3. Catholic Matters
Catholic Matters is a website that addresses the many issues faced by people who identify as Catholics. It seeks to provide a forum for discussion and debate and promotes the teachings of the Catholic Church. It is a member organisation of the Catholic Union which exists to defend the rights and interests of Catholics in Parliament and in public life, through making representations to members of the House of Lords, the Scottish Parliament, the Welsh Assembly or Government Departments, or by writing letters or making representations to the Press.
Drawing on his personal encounters with the late John Paul II and Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, now Pope Benedict XVI, Father Neuhaus writes of their hope for “a springtime of world evangelization, Christian unity, and Catholic renewal.” This book reveals a vibrant Church strengthened and unified by hardship, and on the verge of a great revival in spiritual vitality and an even greater contribution to our common lives.
4. Catholic Culture
Catholics have a distinct culture that has many traditions and values. For example, the church believes in the immortality of the soul and the accountability of people at the time of death. It also teaches that those who are right with God go to heaven and those who are not are punished. The church also encourages chastity and celibacy.
There are several issues that the Catholic church is facing today. These include problems with priests, abortion, and feminism. Despite these issues, the church remains strong and is still practicing its faith. The Catholic church is also involved in politics and social justice. It has been called a major global player on peace, poverty, and gender. However, these issues can cause conflicts with secularized global culture.
5. Catholic News
Catholic News Agency provides up-to-the-minute news affecting the universal Church, placing particular emphasis on the words of the Holy Father and the happenings of the Holy See, to any person with access to the internet. It is a service of EWTN, the world’s largest Catholic media organization.
The Herald’s editorial staff and contributors share an affinity for what one theologian calls “vigilant Catholicism,” characterized by a romantic nostalgia for a chivalrous past and a fiercely defended view of orthodoxy. This group “feels under siege,” he says.
The U.S. Herald is also part of an overlapping network of conservative Catholic publications that share office space and authors, including the infamous websites Church Militant and LifeSiteNews, which spread the discredited allegations of a papal cover-up by former Vatican official Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano. Its editor in the United States, Michael Warren Davis, previously edited Quadrant, an Australian magazine notorious for its right-wing bias.
